Fall, Rise and Fall of Akhilesh Yadev - 1 Overview

Mr. Akhilesh Yadev, Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh
Photo: Indian Express

AUTHOR'S BIO
It was Feb 2012, Legislative Assembly elections were approaching in Uttar Pradesh, the largest and most populated state of India. People were annoyed with the ruling Party Bahujan Samaj Party, headed by 'Behen' Mayawati was busy constructing parks and memorials with her larger than life statues, wasting thousands of crores of public money. Believe me you, after spending so much of money on Dalit Politics the only Dalit who got benefit was 'behenji' herself.

Amidst all this dilemma there was one name which was catching eyeballs of d common youth. That name was Akhilesh Yadav, son of a seasoned politician and head of Samajwadi Party, Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav. He was perceived as young politician who would lead Uttar Pradesh to the roads of development.

This situation converted into clear mandate for Akhilesh yadav and as expected he became the Chief Minister of the largest state of India and the youngest till date.

The first decision he took as sitting Chief Minister was that all the MLA's can by a car worth Rs 25 lakh from the quota. Sounds absurd! But true. This decision evoked a major criticism from all corners and was finally roll back.

Though he was the chief minister but he had no control over his own cabinet ministers and his party members.

His Populist schemes like free laptops failed because the state was still struggling for the basics like electricity. So for many the laptop was of no use and they sold it off.

The law and order condition started getting worst day by day and 'Gundaraj' started again. And with no clear government policies, state couldn't witness any major investment.

Migration of youths to other states for better prospects and opportunities continued. Noida d biggest investment destination of U.P was turning into an residential area with few takers.

Stories of land grabbing became and fights by his party men on toll plazas became a daily news.

And the Muslim appeasement Politics continued. Remember how an enthusiastic I A S officer Mrs. Durga Shakti Nagpal was suspended just because she abandoned the wall of an illegal mosque building.

Dadri lynching case were the victim being minority were awarded with Rs. 65 lakhs and 4 flats in Noida.

All in all Akhilseh Yadev failed miserably as Chief Minister.

Elections of 2017 state assembly is approaching and youth are not ready buy his latest technique of 'makeup' i.e Giving BIG Ads in newspapers and hoardings all around the state.

This is just the overview and we will have detailed analysis on 'Fall, Rise and Fall of Akhilesh Yadev" series.

How do you rate Akhilesh Yadev as Chief Minister? Comment.

Welcome 2014....

Hi friends,
Wishing you a very HAPPY NEW YEAR.
May this year bring all the happiness and opportunities to fulfill all your dreams.
Since this is the first blog post of the year, I thought of doing something new and different to build a strong bonding between us.
So lets start...

ANUJ SINGH & BASANT RAI
To introduce myself again, I am a fashion professional with 15 years of experience into the industry and Anuj Singh is a qualified dentist turned entrepreneur. On paper our diverse background may seem jarring but this disparity only makes us more cohesive pair. Since we first came together as business partners in 2009, we launched our designer label IN SYNC - basant anuj and our event management company have organized some memorable events. In a carefree conversation moderated by our friend Anushka, we talk about the year that was and our plans for 2014.

ANUSHKA: The year 2013 was not a very good year for you as an event manager.
ANUJ: In terms of visibility you can say that because we did only 6 shows in the whole year. But contrary to the popular belief I would say we emerged as a complete winner as an event manager.

ANUSHKA: I didn't get it, explain me how?
BASANT: Okey. Instead of taking up the assignments we were concentrating on building up our own event properties last year. And you also know that the ultimate dream of an event manager is to have their own event property that grows over the period.
ANUJ: See, at times its important to take a break from the mundane, see the things in prospective and move ahead rather then going with the flow.

ANUSHKA: So what all event properties you have worked on?
BASANT: There is this MR & MISS COSMIC INDIA which is a national level pageant where the winners goes on to represent India at the international pageants. And we will end the year with MR & MISS COSMIC WORLD which is an international pageant. Infact this will be the only International Pageant organized in India.
ANUJ: And we have ECO FASHION WEEK INDIA coming up. This is the first and only fashion week of India dedicated to eco and sustainable fashion.

ANUSHKA: That's great. You mean to say you would not be doing other events.
ANUJ: No. That is not the case. Its just that last year we were at the starting phase of building these properties so we could not take up the other assignments.
BASANT: As a matter of fact this month we have 3 events lined up that starts from 8th Jan where we are scouting talented and beautiful girls for FEMINA MISS INDIA 2014, which is a Times of India property.

ANUSHKA: And what's up with your designer label IN SYNC - basant anuj?
BASANT: we are working on it. Our next collection is called the 'CUTTING CHAI'.
ANUJ: And we are taking  crowd funding route to reach to the maximum people.

ANUSHKA: Basant, you have really neglected your blog as I didn't see much of the updates last year.
BASANT: This is one thing I regret today. But from now onwards, I will make sure that I am regular with it. Its a promise to myself.

ANUSHKA: Today how do you see the year 2013 and 2014?
BASANT: For us 2013 will serves as a milestone in creating a solid base for all our business endeavor.
ANUJ: And we are working towards becoming as a major stakeholder in the business of beauty pageant. That's the target for 2014.

Mr. India United Nations is now MR. COSMIC INDIA

mr & Miss Cosmic India

Mr. India United Nations pageant organized by our (me and Anuj Singh) company MELANGE Events is now being renamed as MR. COSMIC INDIA.
When we took the franchise of MR. WORLD UNITED NATIONS in the year 2012 it was obvious then the national pageant was called the Mr. India United Nations.
The first edition of the contest i.e, Mr. India United Nations 2012 contest was a major success and we got tremendous response from all the stakeholders including the participants, the corporate(sponsors), media and the international pageant organizers.
This year we thought of adding some more franchise in our portfolio so that we can groom and send more than one delegates to represent India at the various international pageants.
This is when we decide to change the name to MR. COSMIC INDIA making it more generic. Though we changed the name, the DNA of the contest remains the same i.e, to organize an event that gives the young and dynamic males a platform to voice their choice and represent India at the international contest and win it too.
So every one welcome to MR. COSMIC INDIA.

Eco Fashion Week India 2014

eco fashion week india

There is no limit to human ingenuity and creative thought. This is especially evident in the always-innovative, always-evolving fashion industry.
Bringing in $300 billion a year in revenue, one might wonder what it takes to make it so successful. As it turns out, quite a lot: the resources of healthy ecosystems—fresh water, clean air, robust biodiversity, productive land—and the stability of just societies. So as the third most environmentally damaging industry in the world, its time for the fashion industry people to initiate, implement and promote the kind of sustainability necessary for their long-term viability.
Therefore MELANGE Events presents:
ECO FASHION WEEK INDIA 2014

eco fashion week india 2014

Eco Fashion Week India will serve as a platform to inform and inspire the fashion-conscious, and sustainable-minded, alike, in a way that harmonizes beauty and the environment. After all, innovation in fashion - the future of chic – is inextricably linked to innovation in, well, sustainability.
