BEAUTIFUL INSPIRATION!!

Today as I was sitting with my partner Anuj Singh discussing about 'Miss Cosmic World' an international beauty pageant that we own, I realized how I have evolved from being a person at awe with the pageant titles to someone who is now actually organizing it. And the journey has been quite an interesting and a beautiful one.
And a lot has to do with the women I was surrounded with since I was a student. Let me explain you how!
Ever since I was a student, I have been fortunate enough to have known at least one Miss India / Gladrags finalist at any given point of time. I say fortunate because I am from a small town, Lucknow, where  beauty pageants and fashion shows are still not considered a serious business.
Today when we are the national directors and the franchise holder of three International Pageants, I would like to thank them all for making me the person  I am.

SMITA SHARMA (MISS INDIA 92, Finalist): Smita Sharma was my senior in school and I use to call her didi(sister) and her younger sister was my classmate. I got the news through her sister that she has been selected for MISS INDIA. She went for the contest and and was ranked 4th position. When she came back, she was full of stories about the contest. That was the first time I got the knowledge of what actually happens in the contest. And that was the time I decided to get into the business of fashion. So I started up with fashion choreography and also joined the fashion institute in Mumbai once I completed my intermediate.
Smita Sharma

CHARU JAIN (GLADRAGS SUPERMODEL 95 Finalist) & SHILPI KAKKAR (GLADRAGS SUPERMODEL 1st Runners Up): I use to come to Lucknow during my vacations for two months and use to do fashion choreography for the shows. That is where I met both of them. They were there as small time local models before they got selected for the Gladrags. Shilpi got into the top three and got into the modelling contract with organizer. That time she showed me the contract letter and that was my first brush with the contract sheet.
Shilpi Kakkar

ANUKRITI SRIVASTAV (MISS INDIA 1999 Finalist): By this time the beauty pageants in India had become really big in terms of production. I was again for my vacations from the designing institute when Anukriti asked me to do the costume for her for the Miss India Contest. And I was the part of the Miss India contest as a designer. That was the time when I understood how a pageants are conducted.
Anukriti Srivastav

RUPALI YADEV (MISS INDIA 2006, Finalist) & ROMIL SRIVASTAVA (MISS INDIA 2007, Finalist): By this time I had completed my graduation and moved back to Lucknow. And I had already started my event management company. They both were classmates and use to model for my shows. They were groomed by me for the pageants.

VEDITA P. SINGH (V Get Gorgeous, Winner): She had just returned from Mumbai after her studies. She had her portfolio shot by Dabboo Ratnani. Vedita was the model for my first article as a columnist for leading media house, Hindustan Times.

PRACHI MISHRA (MISS INDIA EARTH 2012): I met her first when she had come for a state level pageant where I was the official trainer and the pageant director. And later she went on to win the Miss India Earth title. We still are in touch and keeps on discussing about our work.

My list of 5 best dressed Actresses at FILMFARE Award 2013

I always look forward to film award functions not for the sake of knowing which film actors and actresses got the award, but it is purely for  seeing these celebrities dressing up and flaunting their best at the occasion.
When it comes to the look, some of them play safe, others becomes edgy. Many stay loyal to a designer few experiment. But the motive is the same... to look stunning!

The FILMFARE Award 2013 was no difference. Everyone looked stunning in their own way. But here are my pick on the 5best dressed actresses in no particular order:

DEEPIKA PADUKONE: She looked absolutely  breath taking in PRABAL GURUNG cut-out gown with red lips and studded Louboutins.

PRIYANKA CHOPRA: She is one actress who never goes wrong when it comes to Award functions. This time also she looked stunning in an ARMANI PRIVE gown. From colour to her makeup and hairstyle every thing was... PERFECT.
Priyanka Chopra in Armani Prive

ALIA BHATT:  This young entrant has a flair for fashion. And she yet again proved it in MANISH MALHOTRA lehenga. I loved the hint of pink dupatta to break the monotony.
Alia Bhatt in Manish Malhotra

CHITRANGADA SINGH: She surprised me with her looks. She choose ANAND KABRA for the day. The Amrapali earrings, Eina Ahluwalia haath phool and a Gucci clutch completed her look.

Jodie Foster’s glorious 'Coming Out' Speech At The 2013 Golden Globes

Judie Foster at The 2013 Golden Globes

As I was watching this acceptance speech by Judie Foster at the 2013 Golden Globes on YouTube, I realized, that she was prepared to bare it all, but in a very glorious and gracious manner.

The notoriously private Foster stunned the audience of stars and Hollywood biggies as she accepted a life-time achievement award by announcing she was now single. Following her "I'm just gonna put it out there loud and proud" build-up she snatched away the expected "I'm gay!" denouement with, "I am single. Yes I am. I am single."

Agreed, she was not courageous enough to accept that she is a gay, but she  made a moving tribute to her "ex-partner in love" and co-parent Cydney Bernard, as later she said, "There is no way I could ever stand here without acknowledging one of the deepest loves of my life, my heroic co-parent, my ex-partner in love but righteous soul sister in life, my confessor, ski buddy, consigliere, most beloved BFF of 20 years, Cydney Bernard. Thank you, Cyd. I am so proud of our modern family."

Foster said she had always been up front with trusted friends and family about her sexual orientation.
"But now apparently, I'm told that every celebrity is expected to honor the details of their private life with a press conference ... that's just not me," she said.

Judie Foster stunted all the stars and Hollywood biggies  when she said "She is single"

She ended her speech with the note, "Jodie Foster was here, I still am, and I want to be seen, to be understood deeply and to be not so very lonely. Thank you, all of you, for the company. Here’s to the next 50 years.”

For me Jodie Foster is one of the most amazing actresses of all time. And after watching the video I can say, she is one the most amazing person in the world.

7 ways to look chic regardless of age

Here are a few tips that will put a smile on many women's face! A well-known celebrity stylist, Lois Joy Johnson, brings a few tricks that will allow you to look younger and to refresh your style without having to completely change the contents of your closet and empty the bank account.
Besides the fact that Lois Joy Johnson is a celebrity stylist, she is also the author of The Wardrobe Wakeup: Your Guide to Looking Fabulous at Any Age, and on this occasion we bring you some of her great tips.

Be bold with colours

"I think we all learned a lesson from Michele Obama, and that, thanks to colours, it is possible to stand out from the masses," says Lois Joy Johnson. Black colour can make you look tired, but by choosing an appropriate colour can make you look like you are full of energy, "she adds. Colours can have a positive impact on your complexion, radiant skin and mood. Aside from the colour on the clothes, you should also be brave when it comes to makeup and some accessories. Colours in which you feel good are most likely those colours that best suit you.

Layers are stylish

When you do it right, layered outfit can look very good and stylish. To avoid a messy and modern look, pay attention to the materials of the garments. Lois Joy Johnson suggests that the thinnest and longest piece of clothing you wear underneath, and each layer should be made of thicker material and a shorter model. Start with long thin shirt and then finish with a thicker sweater and jacket with different length. Layers in the upper part re balance with leggings or skinny jeans in the lower part.

Dresses for every occasion

"Dresses are perfect and simple solution because you do not have to trouble yourself with how to pair several pieces of clothing. Dresses pass in every situation, and they can be combined with shoes, boots, high and low heels, "advises Lois Joy Johnson.

Allow yourself an elongated silhouette

"Remove from the wardrobe any clothing that highlights your neck and legs "advises the stylist, but the idea is not to reach for the deepest cleavages but moderate' V 'cut-outs or sweaters on which you can unbutton the top few buttons. Additionally combine a knee-length skirt and heels to elongate your legs. This combination creates an impression of elongated silhouette.

Monochrome version

While you might think that a white blouse and black skirt are ideal combinations for every occasion, just stick with the combination of items in one colour. 'But it does not have to all be the same shade, you can wear, for example, navy sweater, and combine it with dark jeans, "says stylist.
Firmer look with corsets

"If you only have one corset in your closet, you'll benefit every time you want to look 'tighter'' says the stylist. Some pieces of clothing easily adhere better to the body if you have a corset underneath, and today there are a vast variations of corsets on offer, high waist shorts ... Manyfamous beauties are wearing bustiers and corsets to help their body look better shaped.

Spice up everything with a thin belt

'A thin belt adds one final definition to your appearance and emphasizes the waist and curves, and can greatly improve the general impression by making a clumsy combination to a chic combination, "says Lois Joy Johnson. You just have to try to wear a belt at the thinnest part of the waist, not the hips.
