Mr. India United Nations is now MR. COSMIC INDIA

mr & Miss Cosmic India

Mr. India United Nations pageant organized by our (me and Anuj Singh) company MELANGE Events is now being renamed as MR. COSMIC INDIA.
When we took the franchise of MR. WORLD UNITED NATIONS in the year 2012 it was obvious then the national pageant was called the Mr. India United Nations.
The first edition of the contest i.e, Mr. India United Nations 2012 contest was a major success and we got tremendous response from all the stakeholders including the participants, the corporate(sponsors), media and the international pageant organizers.
This year we thought of adding some more franchise in our portfolio so that we can groom and send more than one delegates to represent India at the various international pageants.
This is when we decide to change the name to MR. COSMIC INDIA making it more generic. Though we changed the name, the DNA of the contest remains the same i.e, to organize an event that gives the young and dynamic males a platform to voice their choice and represent India at the international contest and win it too.
So every one welcome to MR. COSMIC INDIA.

Eco Fashion Week India 2014

eco fashion week india

There is no limit to human ingenuity and creative thought. This is especially evident in the always-innovative, always-evolving fashion industry.
Bringing in $300 billion a year in revenue, one might wonder what it takes to make it so successful. As it turns out, quite a lot: the resources of healthy ecosystems—fresh water, clean air, robust biodiversity, productive land—and the stability of just societies. So as the third most environmentally damaging industry in the world, its time for the fashion industry people to initiate, implement and promote the kind of sustainability necessary for their long-term viability.
Therefore MELANGE Events presents:
ECO FASHION WEEK INDIA 2014

eco fashion week india 2014

KARISHMA JAMWAL LATEST COLLECTION "BETWEEN SMUDGED LINES" at LFW W/F '13

Follow my blog with GIMMEMORE

A splash of urban existentialism against effervescent patterns of art is what donned the runway at Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive ’13, where designer Karishma Jamwal showcased her latest collection “Between Smudged Lines” under her very own label “Lotus Sutr”.

A seamless blend of the bold and the beautiful, with graphics that stood out yet mingled with smudged water colour paints, Karishma Jamwal’s collection had been inspired by Jill Ricci’s art form of harmonious coexistence. The palette varied from sky blues to mustard browns to sunset oranges and tangerine with draped jackets and floor length togas. Fringed detailing and an urban bohemian feel completed the look.

Speaking about the collection, Karishma said that it would appeal to the younger generation as well as the more mature middle aged women, in fact anyone who could appreciate the magic art could create on fabric.

3 Reasons to wear KHADI

khadi, gandhi, eco friendly fashion, sustainable fashion, designer khadi

With designers like Ritu Kumar, Masaba G, Rina Dhaka, Deepika Gehani, Rahul Mishra, Wendell Rodricks endorsing  KHADI fabric, today KHADI has come a long way. From being a symbol of the Indian freedom movement to the uniform of the Indian politicians and now the most trendiest fabric, KHADI has always been a fabric with attitude.
Today KHADI is available in the latest designs and colours. But this is not the only reason to wear KHADI.
Here are the three reasons why you should wear KHADI

1. KHADI IS ECO FRIENDLY
Since KHADI is a hand spun fabric, it does not consume any power(electricity) and does not leave any harmful waste on the process of making it, making it an eco friendly fabric. Wear KHADI to save our mother Earth.

2. KHADI IS SKIN FRIENDLY
KHADI is woven in such a way that it regulates the body temperature naturally by keeping the body cool in summer and warm in winter. As KHADI fabric is made with the cotton or silk (both the natural fabric) it soothes the skin making it a skin friendly fabric.

3. KHADI FOR A CAUSE
First of all wearing KHADI  means wearing a cultural heritage that KHADI has been a part of. And secondly, wearing KHADI means empowering the hundreds and thousands of weavers and helping them to earn a better living for themselves.

5 Hot Colour Trends For 2013 – Brighter Than Ever

Spring months are the perfect time for introducing the return of colour. You can box up your dark grey and blacks from the cold winter months and replace them with some refresher and brighter colours. Spring time is a time for warm days, cool evenings and is the time where everything comes alive again, including you. Be prepared to leave the tangerine orange as here we can take a look and some of the hottest colours chosen by PATONE for Spring 2013.

Here are the hot picks by our guest blogger MERY RAY, who is an English freelance writer, graduated from the London School of Journalism during 2008 and currently living in Rome, Italy, writing for local and International websites and magazines.

Monaco Blue

Monaco Blue

Monaco blue is 2013’s Spring choice of colour stated by Institute Of Colour, Patone, the authority on everything that is colour. The classic Monaco Blue is versatile and elegant, full of depth and can be combined with colours such as emerald green and lemon zest.  This classic but modern colour is set to be hot this year.
Other close matches and close runners up to being the colour of Spring include colours such as Dusk Blue and Greyded Jade. All these colours are great for infusing a sense of well-being.

African Violet

African Violet

African violet is a neutral colour and mixes well with other neutrals such as Poppy Red and Dusk Blue. This hue of purple compliments all skin tones well and can be compared to black or navy. In other words, everyone looks good in it! You can also mix it with different shades of purple to create depth. It is set to be one of the most romantic wears of next season.

Emerald Green

Emerald Green

Emerald Green is a clear, fresh and crisp colour that is perfect for early spring and has been crowned as ‘colour of the year’ by Patone. According to them the colour is described as energizing and radiant, making it a must have this season. By mixing the emerald with colours such as the Greyded Jade and Tender shoot, this creates an invigorating, cool and refreshing look.

Lemon Zest

Lemon Zest

This optimistic and cheerful colour is great to add a bit of playfulness to the Spring season. Associated with daffodils and baby chicks, Lemon zest is all so a great look for one that feels festive over the Easter period. Yellow is a colour that represents the sun, so it will defiantly be keeping you shining throughout the spring.

Poppy Red

Red is known as a bold, passionate colour and is great to add a bit of warmth to the Spring months. Poppy red  works great with ivory and black, but be sure to make the Red your colour statement.  It is vibrant and sexy, working well with all skin tones. If going all red isn’t your thing, don’t be afraid to experiment with accessories, less can also be better.
