5 Hot Colour Trends For 2013 – Brighter Than Ever

Spring months are the perfect time for introducing the return of colour. You can box up your dark grey and blacks from the cold winter months and replace them with some refresher and brighter colours. Spring time is a time for warm days, cool evenings and is the time where everything comes alive again, including you. Be prepared to leave the tangerine orange as here we can take a look and some of the hottest colours chosen by PATONE for Spring 2013.

Monaco blue is 2013’s Spring choice of colour stated by Institute Of Colour, Patone, the authority on everything that is colour. The classic Monaco Blue is versatile and elegant, full of depth and can be combined with colours such as emerald green and lemon zest.  This classic but modern colour is set to be hot this year.

Other close matches and close runners up to being the colour of Spring include colours such as Dusk Blue and Greyded Jade. All these colours are great for infusing a sense of well-being.

African Violet

African Violet

African violet is a neutral colour and mixes well with other neutrals such as Poppy Red and Dusk Blue. This hue of purple compliments all skin tones well and can be compared to black or navy. In other words, everyone looks good in it! You can also mix it with different shades of purple to create depth. It is set to be one of the most romantic wears of next season.

Emerald Green

Emerald Green

Emerald Green is a clear, fresh and crisp colour that is perfect for early spring and has been crowned as ‘colour of the year’ by Patone. According to them the colour is described as energizing and radiant, making it a must have this season. By mixing the emerald with colours such as the Greyded Jade and Tender shoot, this creates an invigorating, cool and refreshing look.

This optimistic and cheerful colour is great to add a bit of playfulness to the Spring season. Associated with daffodils and baby chicks, Lemon zest is all so a great look for one that feels festive over the Easter period. Yellow is a colour that represents the sun, so it will defiantly be keeping you shining throughout the spring. 

Poppy Red

Red is known as a bold, passionate colour and is great to add a bit of warmth to the Spring months. Poppy red  works great with ivory and black, but be sure to make the Red your colour statement.  It is vibrant and sexy, working well with all skin tones. If going all red isn’t your thing, don’t be afraid to experiment with accessories, less can also be better.

Pragya's creation for Patola at Lakme Fashion Week

Young, vibrant, quirky, these are few of the adjectives that came in my mind when I saw the collection of BAGS designed by PRAGYA GUPTA.

  
After working as a senior Product Designer at Hidesign and developing a range of handbags for the designer brand Patola for the Lakme Fashion Week, this Graduate in Leather Design from NIFT, Kolkata is all set to start her own label in Lucknow. 

Here are the excerpt, of the Q & A session I had with her:

1. What does a BAG means to you? 
A bag, to me, is more than just an accessory. It says so much about a woman's personality...her priorities, her taste & her quirks! It is like a little part of her home or work that she carries with herself when she is out.

2. What are the things one should keep in mind buying a leather bag? 
Besides the aesthetic value of the bag, one must define the purpose a bag would solve- where and when can you carry it, how much can you carry in it & how comfortably you can carry it. Price is always a consideration when one is buying a leather bag, but one must remember that this one higher priced leather bag is likely to outlast two or more of the less expensive options. It is a sort of an investment.
 
3. Who is your favourite designer?  
I absolutely love the quirkiness and experimental style of Moschino-Cheap & Chic and Marc Jacobs. I also love Hidesign for its timeless elegant styling.
 
4. 5 things you always carry in your bag/purse.  
A diary, a stationery pouch, a pack of tissues, lip balm and my wallet are just few of the things that I never leave without in my bag.
 
5. 10 years down the lane where do you see yourself. 
I see myself as a happy person with a great career & of course a beautiful family. The brand I am working on with my Uncle, Ajit Gupta, would be well settled and one of the biggest names in the Indian accessory segment. :)

 The first edition of it as organized last year when we got the franchise of MR UNITED NATIONS WORLD 2012. We got this franchise in the month of March last year and the finals were suppose to held in May. With whatever little time and resources we had we were able to pull it off with great aplomb. We opened up the entries through the powerful medium of internet and it was heart warming to receive more that 800 entries from all over India in the first year. Then came Scorpio Club as the partner with us. Rahul Vyas of Pune was the winner of MR INDIA UNITED NATIONS INDIA 2012. Now we are all geared up for the second edition i.e, MR INDIA UNITED NATIONS 2013.
